NBC has decided to remove Ann Curry from her position as co-anchor of The Today Show, but the network is paying a BIG price for promoting her only to fire her.

Sources say that she had just signed a new contract with her employers that guaranteed her $10 million a year...for the next three years!

It stinks that she was blamed for the morning show's ratings dip and got the boot as a result, but we'd happily get fired for that much money. At least she's still Jay Leno on The Tonight Show. Apparently, they just love spending money on absolutely nothing.

We think Ann and Conan O'Brien will have to get together to kiki soon since they'll have A LOT to talk about! Although they were both hurt by the network's decision, they both ended up making out on the deal.
