Looks like we'll have to be patient for a little bit longer...

Earlier this week, we were SO excited to announce that Britney Spears had (supposedly) been locked in to judge the U.S. version of The X Factor!

Now, we're bummed to hear that she has NOT officially signed anything yet...although sources close to Brit are saying that she's "very close."

We're hearing that the deal is likely to be finalized within the next couple of days, and that an announcement will probably be made by Fox on Monday.

We're ALSO hearing that the contract has been pre-approved by the judge handling Brit's conservatorship, which is obviously fantastic!

Fingers, legs, arms, and everything else crossed that it all goes smoothly! We can't wait to hear that official announcement!!!!!!
