Anne Hathaway was all set to love Raffaello Follieri forever. ...but then he turned out to be this HUGE criminal!

After pleading guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering, Raffa spent four years in prison before being deported back to Italy!

He says he thought his life was over, but he learned to get by -- one day at a time. (And hopefully by also realizing four years in prison is actually pretty good for 14 counts of all THAT!)

When he looks back on his days with Anne, he says:mistakes, he'll come back with, "I'm not a saint. But I'm not the devil."

And honestly, we DO believe in second chances. And we really hope he's making a happy life for himself over in Rome. Just like we know Anne's happy here in the States!
