Sacha Baron Cohen personally apologized to Ryan Seacrest on the SNL set this past weekend for ashing all over Ryan on the red carpet back in February.

Surely you remember The Dictator’s HIGHlarious Oscar night hijinks?

Ryan spoke about his encounter with Sacha: George Clooney instead but thought better of it.

Ryan explains:

“He [Sacha] said, ‘We were going to do it on George Clooney, and then someone decided that it wasn’t a great idea because he was up for a lot of nominations. It was big night for him that night.’ Then they somehow spun ‘The Wheel of Tragedy’ and it ended on my name.”

We don't pity Ryan too much. He watched Rihanna perform on SNL from Lorne Michael's private suite.
